THE ESSENTIALS OF FLUID ENGINEERING

The importance of understanding the mathematics of hydraulic watershape design cannot be overstated. It is an essential element in every type of watershape system. In this detailed class, students are immersed in hydraulic principles and applied science needed to design efficient, durable and serviceable circulation systems.

In the ONLINE, ON-DEMAND course, students work through 16 hours of lecture and complete targeted practical projects.

Enrollment in this course includes unlimited access to the lecture and reading material, a downloadable version of the Watershape Advisor Worksheets, and a hard copy of the Essential Fluid Engineering manual.

LEARN TO USE POWERFUL PLANNING AND DESIGN TOOLS

As part of the materials for this course, you will gain unlimited access to Watershape Advisor, a versatile and comprehensive pool system planning tool that calculates everything you need to know about your next project.

NOTE: Microsoft Excel is required to open and utilize the Watershape Advisor Worksheets

16:00 hours -Watershape University is an authorized IACET provider, and offers 1.6 CEUs for this program.

CEUs are awarded for successfully completing all 12 modules. More detailed course requirements are listed in o the introduction to the curriculum within the course.

Learning Outcomes

  1. List key fluid engineering concepts including area, volume, volume, depth, mass, flow rate, pressure, velocity, energy, head pressure and others.
  2. Apply basic hydraulic principles, guidelines, standards and code limitations to watershape design.
  3. Discuss efficiency principles including total dynamic head (TDH), electrical efficiency, energy costs and heating efficiency.
  4. Practice using apps for pipe sizing and other key calculations.
FUNDAMENTALS OF FLUID ENGINEERING

Acquire a comprehensive, practical overview of the fundamental physics that govern every watershape system and design.

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

Dive into real-world schematics and diagrams to understand how theory meets total dynamic head and other critical considerations when planning your next watershape.

WORK ON YOUR SKILLS

Walk through a detailed example project and test your understanding with quizzes at the end of each unit.
